Organised by the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in conjunction with JCCPA, this programme gives professional workers and people interested in dementia care a basic understanding of dementia from different perspectives, as well as different intervention means for dementia.
Programme Objectives
- to understand the basic concept of dementia and a person-centric care approach
- to design community care services for people with dementia and their caregivers
- to assess the needs of people with dementia and caregivers in community settings
- to get familiar with non-pharmacological interventions and relevant treatment in dementia care

Admission Requirements
- Applicants who are working in social service or health care settings
- Priority will be given to applicants working in elderly care services
- Fresh graduates in social work or social science are also welcome
- Applicants who have obtained 5 subjects at Grade E / Level 2 or above in HKCEE (including English Language and Chinese Language); OR
- Holders of a Diploma in Vocational Studies / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate; OR
- Applicants who obtain a pass in Project Yi Jin OR equivalent; AND
- preferably have at least one year working experience in related fields / and be recommended by employers
